Are you new to softball?

Overview

NBR continues to work to enhance our Softball Program each year. In 2022, we have formed an awesome and dedicated team of softball volunteers, who are working very hard to have NBR's softball program reach its full potential. We accept girls who live or attend school within ALL of Canyon County.

Until we've reached full capacity, our teams will play against other leagues throughout the Treasure Valley based on their age division (the age cutoff for softball is determined by what age your child is on 12/31). NBR's goal and OUR goal for your players is that they are educated in the rules, developed in their skill, and have fun while doing it!

NBR offers the following divisions:

  • 6U (ages 4-6)

  • 8U (ages 7-8)

  • 10U (ages 9-10)

  • 12U (ages 11-12)

  • 14/16U (ages 13-16)

6U Division

This age division will have coach pitch for 3 times and then switch to a tee in order to develop our batters sooner to avoid shock when moving up to 8U where there is no tee, and the players begin to pitch. The distance from the coach pitching to the batter is between 15-35 feet. Rosters maybe composed of 10-12 players with 1-3 practices a week and 1-2 games per week during the Spring Season.

8U Division

This age division will have player/coach pitch in order to develop our pitchers sooner to avoid shock when moving up to 10U (this means the player will pitch and if they get 4 balls the coach will step in and toss the ball to the batter). The distance from the pitcher to the batter is 35 feet. Rosters maybe composed of 10-12 players with 1-3 practices a week and 1-2 games per week during the Spring Season.

10U Division

This age division is player pitch only! The distance from the pitcher to the batter remains at 35 feet. Rosters maybe composed of 12-14 players with 1-3 practices a week and 1-2 games per week during the Spring Season.

12U Division

This age division is player pitch only with the distance between the pitcher and the batter being 40 feet in preparation for moving to 14U. Rosters maybe composed of 12-14 players with 1-3 practices a week and 1-2 games per week during the Spring Season.

14/16U Division

This age division remains player pitch only with the distance between the pitcher and the batter being 43 feet. Rosters maybe composed of 12-14 players with 1-3 practices a week and 1-2 games per week during the Spring Season.
